Hello followers! I'm sorry that I haven't been posting lately. The last few weeks I was stressing over the last few weeks in the semester and finals. I kind of shut down and wasn't really doing much other than school work and sleeping. But now I'm back! And working harder than ever before.
I just moved back home last Tuesday after completing my Freshman year of college. When I reviewed my lifestyle at college over my first year, I wasn't completely satisfied. I stuck to eating healthy, I didn't drink, I didn't gain any weight (I actually lost 5 pounds). But I didn't FEEL good about my body. I felt sluggish, I had no muscle tone, and I just wasn't happy. So when I got home, I took the initiative to DO something about it.
I signed up for a membership at the local gym (Rochester Athletic Club). I was reluctant at first considering I don't have a job, and thirty dollars a month is a good chunk of change; but I went for it anyways. My best friend and I signed up together and we're using each other as motivators to keep going to the gym. It's easy to bail out when it's just yourself; but if someone else is counting on you... you're less likely to bail out.
I love my new gym because not only do they have tons and tons of classes weekly, but I also get to work with a personal trainer to help get me on a workout to achieve my goals. (Gotta love that!) So I started working out last Thursday, and have gone everyday since. I've found that I enjoy working out in the morning so I can just get it out of the way. Well, I meet with my trainer, Kyle, on Tuesday to get me started on a workout regimen, and in 6 weeks he'll be measuring my progress!
Stay healthy!

Jillian Day #2
So I did the same video workout as yesterday, and let me tell you. It kicked my butt just as much! I was a little sore and my body was a little tired from yesterday, but I'm glad I stuck it out and did the entire workout! I feel so accomplished.
On a side note, I already feel healthier. It'd be impossible to actually see a difference at this point, but the negative talk is slowly disappearing from my mind. I feel less groggy throughout the day, and I'm making increasingly healthier choices in meals and snacks. (I never really ate unhealthy, but I'm not craving sweets as much!)
Overall I think this is a great send off for the end of my college freshman year, as well as a great kick start for a fantastic fit and healthy summer!
Keep fit, eat healthy, stay motivated!
